Editors' Section
For scenery Authors, Moderators and Gatherers
What's all that mean?
- Author
- Anyone who modifies scenery and sends the changes back to us.
- Moderator
- A person who has volunteered to check scenery updates submitted by Authors. Moderators have a responsibility to maintain the quality of data within the Repository. Each Moderator will normally work within a specific region of the world.
- Gatherer
- One of a select few people with direct access to part of the repository. These trusted few have a responsibility to keep the Repository itself in good order, and to make sure each update is properly packaged.
- Great Gatherer
- The one single Gatherer who also has the password to ftp.x-plane.com, and is responsible for periodically merging accumulated updates into the main scenery set. He is modest enough not to make you face Britain and worship him nightly, but if you think it might help, he is not going to stop you.
I want to send in an update...
You are an Author. Please read the Author Guidelines, which should contain the information you need to create and submit acceptable updates.
I want to be a Moderator...
I hope you have plenty of time on your hands! Please read the Author Guidelines for most information on what you are expected to uphold, and talk to us on the GloS Discussion List about more details of what's involved. To subscribe to this list, send an e-mail to list-daemon at conik dot net with "subscribe xp-glbl-scn-mods" in the body.
I want to be a Gatherer...
Only exceptionally-trusted people get to be Gatherers, and since we probably have enough of them already, we are not currently looking for more.
